    • House of Air is an indoor trampoline park located in the historic airplane hangar at West Crissy Field, Building 926, 926 (Old) Mason Street in The Presidio of San Francisco, California.   • The Marine Mammal Center
    • Want to know why a sea lion roars or if an elephant seal has a tusk? Head for the veterinary hospital tucked away in the beauty of the Marin Headlands, where the philosophy and focus is on educating the public about marine mammals, their environment and health. Children and parents alike will enjoy learning about these ocean animals that have been brought back from near demise in hopes of being fully rehabbed for eventual release.

  • McInnis Park:  
    • Activity park center for Kids and adults.  Features: Driving Range, Skate Park, batting cages, Kiosk, soccer fields, dog park - only 5 minutes from home.

 

  • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
    • Not really a "marin' thing, but thought you may be interested.  It is a Pure Amusement Park(25minutes from home)  - Rides, animals, etc...
      • Located in Vallejo, outside "Marin" - but just 20minute drive (like six flags and Sea World combined).

 

  • Bay Area Discovery Museum

    • Parks nearest Marin Vista House:

      • Ranchitos Park: 1minute way (by car).  Beig play structure.  Basketball court.  Back wall.  Small field.

 

  • Civic Center Lagoon Park:  Great park for kids - just 2 minutes from house (by car).  Enjoy the lagoon as well, plenty of ducks and geese to view.
    • You will know you are in the right place by the light blue roof tops of The Marin Civic Center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Down by the lagoon are two fully fenced-in play areas with a shaded picnic area in center.

 

  • Maria Freitas Park:  Great park - 3 minutes from house (by car).  Enjoy lots climbing activity as well as water feature for kids.

 

  • Farmers Market:  (2-4minutes from the Marin Vista House):
    • Marin Civic Center Farmers Market - Thursday & Sunday mornings:  8am - 1pm.
      • Downtown San Rafael Certified Farmers' Market- (Festival Atmosphere- great on summer nights! 3 mins from home!)
  • Blackies Pasture
    • Walk along the SF bay, no cars, just views and people enjoying the day.  Very scenic , great for all ages!  Bike and walking paths.  Playgrounds along walk.  Huge fields for games. Path will take you to downtown Tiburon, Main street.

Great Marin Nature Parks - hiking and discovering:

    • Mt Tamalpais

      • Marin's backdrop Mtn, and a state park.
    • Muir Woods: 
      • A real attraction for visitors.  Put aside by John Muir and host to spectacular Redwoods (worlds tallest trees).  Incredible.
    • China Camp State Park
      • Only 5 minutes from home.  Beautiful.  Great biking & hiking trails.
    • Angel Island State Park
      • Sit on the bay and makes a great "day" activity.  The Island has incredible views (360) of the bay, city, bridge, alcatraz- the whole thing- with a great beach for kids along with BBQ area.  There also is a fun Cafeteria- American style, on the Island.  Boats are moored in the harbor.  You get to this Island by Ferry from Tiburon (6 minute ride).
      • Beachs:
      • Stinson Beach-
        • Beautiful beach on the pacific ocean, in Marin.  Very serene, yet happening if thats what you want- depending on where you set up.
        • Angel Island State Park

          • Sit on the bay and makes a great "day" activity.  The Island has incredible views (360) of the bay, city, bridge, alcatraz- the whole thing- with a great beach for kids along with BBQ area.  There also is a fun Cafeteria- American style, on the Island.  Boats are moored in the harbor.  You get to this Island by Ferry from Tiburon (6 minute ride).
        • McNears Beach: (8 minutes from the Marin Vista House)
          • Facilities include a swimming pool, snack bar, sand volleyball courts, several group picnic areas of varying size, expansive turf areas, and newly renovated tennis courts. The pool and the snack bar operate during the summer season only. The narrow, bayside beach offers a fun, safe place for general beach recreation and easy carry-in boat access for kayaks and canoes.
